Steel chairs from room 313 in the gallery.

For this exhibition, the chairs from room 313 at Brighton University were reproduced using various techniques from welded steel pieces hung from the ceiling and on the floor, to tape drawings on the walls and windows.

The chairs take on the shape of the surface behind them - a corner or edge of the room, or a shelf or object that is already in the space. The folds are only visible in the chairs when viewed from different positions in the gallery.

I aim to encourage the viewer to step into the work and in experiencing different viewpoints, see drawing in a new way.
